2026 Blessing Ceremony for Unmarried 1st Generation Spirits
May the blessings and love of our Heavenly Parent and True Parents be with all mission nations.

On January 2, 2003, the ‘Day of Victory of Love’ True Parents extended the following grace: “As you do ancestor liberation, if you also liberated unmarried first-generation individuals among your siblings (or your own direct children), or unmarried collaterals, then you must hold the blessing ceremony separately for these unmarried spirits.”
As stated below, the ‘2026 Blessing Ceremony for Unmarried 1st Generation Spirits’ will be held during the ‘Hyojeong CheonBo Great Works Commemorating the 14th Anniversary of the Holy Ascension of Sun Myung Moon, the True Parent of Heaven, Earth and Humankind. ’

5. Guidance on Application for Matching 1st Generation Unmarried Single Female Spirits with 2nd Generation Male Spirits

A. Notice: We intend to hold the 'Ascended Blessed Second and Third Generation Unmarried Spirits (Blessed Children) Single Spirit Blessing Ceremony' (held once every three years) this December. However, at present, the number of Blessed Children female ascended spirits is extremely low compared to the number of Blessed Children male ascended spirits. Therefore, in accordance with True Mother’s words, matching between 2nd Generation male spirits and 1st Generation single female spirits will be permitted only in cases where both parents desire it. Furthermore, those who receive the Blessing through this route will be recognized as a "2nd Generation Family."
(Applicable when both the parents of the 1st Generation single female spirit and the parents of the 2nd Generation single male spirit desire this match.)
B. Application Qualifications for 1st Generation Single Female Spirits
- Age of the Spirit: Between 16 and 47 years of age based on earthly age
(Deceased female spirit's birthdate must fall between January 1, 1979, and December 18, 2010)
- Must be a spirit who was Liberated by July 25, 2026
- Must be the daughter of faithful parents or the granddaughter of faithful grandparents
- Gratitude Offering: According to each country group standard (As the family becomes a 2nd Generation Family after the Blessing, the gratitude offering rate for 2nd Generation applies)
C. Important Notes
- In the case of the Unmarried 2nd (3rd) Generation Spirit Blessing Ceremony, engagement takes place through a separate matching process scheduled between November 1 and November 30. Please note that if the matching and engagement are not established, participation in the Blessing Ceremony is not possible. In such cases, you must reapply for engagement during the Blessed Children Single Spirit Blessing Ceremony scheduled in three years, or apply for the 1st Generation Single Spirit Blessing Ceremony held during next year’s Summer Great Works.
- In principle, the parents or family members who liberated the child must apply for the engagement and attend the Blessing Ceremony. If parents are unable to attend due to unavoidable circumstances, a family member aged 18 or older or a church leader (someone in a position to take responsibility for that spirit) may apply and represent the spirit at the Blessing on behalf of the parents.
D. Application Process: Further details and instructions will be announced via an official memo in September 2026.

6. Important Points

A. For the Single Spirit Blessing, the spirit must have a name. If only the relationship is written (e.g., aunt/uncle/niece), you must consult with the family in advance and request a name change before submitting the application.
B. By special grace, a member who has liberated a first-generation unmarried spirit can participate in the First-Generation Single Spirit Blessing Ceremony even if they have not yet fully completed the Ancestor Liberation Gratitude Donation for direct ancestors of the 1st to 7th generations.
C. If the Special Liberation Gratitude Donation has not been fully completed, it must be paid in full before registration in order to apply for the Blessing.
D. If multiple single spirits have been liberated, a separate Blessing Gratitude Donation is required for each spirit.
E. If a member who liberated a single spirit is unable to attend due to unavoidable circumstances, another member may apply on their behalf. (However, including oneself, applications can be made for up to four Single Spirit Blessing Ceremonies only.)
